Jack Johnson promotes live set with acoustic Hawaii run
Singer/songwriter Jack Johnson will spend some time in his native Hawaii this spring in support of his impending live collection, “Jack Johnson and Friends: Best of Kokua Festival.”
The musician/surfer will kick off the four-city, seven-date, all-acoustic outing with an April 19 performance in Kauai, followed by two-night stands in Oahu (4/21-4/22), Maui (4/25-4/26) and Waimea (4/28-4/29).
Tickets for the Hawaiian run go on sale March 3; deatails are available via the performer’s website.
Johnson will unveil his latest live album, “Jack Johnson and Friends: Best of Kokua Festival,” on April 17. The 13-track set features live performances from the artist’s benefit concert for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, as well as a slew of special guests, including Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Dave Matthews and Eddie Vedder, among others.
Proceeds from album and tour sales will benefit the foundation, which Johnson founded in 2003 to support environmental education in schools and communities throughout Hawaii…
