O.C. man dies while surfing in Oceanside

A 63-year-old Aliso Viejo man died Saturday morning while surfing in Oceanside, officials said.
Charles Solon Todd Jr., a 63-year-old married man, was surfing at Surf Beach at 7:29 a.m. Saturday, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office. He was seen riding a wave into shore, sitting on his board, when he collapsed forward onto his board.
