CAMBRIA, Calif. — Officials say an 18-foot-long shark has been spotted in the waters off Cambria and are urging beachgoers to be careful.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said Monday that the grey-colored shark was spotted a day earlier about 50 yards offshore.

Shark warnings are being placed between Cambria and San Simeon, though beaches will remain open.
