BMX and skateboard skills encouraged in bid to get rid of anti-social behaviour

Children in Aberdeen are offered weekly sessions to improve their skills in an effort to stop them getting into trouble.

Youngsters in an Aberdeen community blighted by anti-social behaviour are being given the chance to channel their energy into learning new BMX and skateboard tricks.

Experienced skaters and bikers will be giving free lessons and tuition to youths in Bridge of Don in a bid to improve community relations.

The area of Aberdeen has been highlighted as having a particularly high level of anti-social behaviour among young people.

It is hoped that the weekly sessions with instructors from the city’s Transition Extreme, the city’s skating and climbing centre.

The project, welcomed by Grampian Police, has been funded by a £5000 donation from a local energy firm and is open to youngsters of all ages and abilities…
