Dutch tourist dies in Moruya surf

Police are preparing a report for the coroner after a tourist from the Netherlands drowned on the New South Wales far south coast.

The man, 64, was trying to escape the 30 degree temperatures in surf at Moruya’s North Head beach yesterday afternoon.

Police say the man’s wife called for assistance after she saw him waving and calling for help.

Local surfers went to his aid but were unable to revive him…
