Man, 28, Suffers Shark Bite While Surfing

INDIATLANTIC, Fla. — A Melbourne Beach man was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center on Thursday after suffering an apparent shark bite while surfing in Brevard County.The 28-year-old man told those who rescued him that he was about 50 feet from the shore when the incident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. He said as he paddled out, he felt something in the water grab his hand and as he pulled it free, saw what he said was a 5-foot-long shark swimming away.The man returned to shore and he and a friend tried to drive to a hospital before pulling over near Fifth and South Miramar avenues in Indialantic and calling 911…
