Surfer dies after mishap at Sydney beach

A man has died after going into cardiac arrest at a beach in Sydney’s south.

The 58-year-old was surfing at North Cronulla this morning when his leash snapped and he lost his board.

Council lifesavers and members of the public pulled him from the water a short time later and tried to revive him.
