Dane Avoids Teahupoo

Dane Reynolds has withdrawn from the Billabong Pro Tahiti and will be replaced by Cory Lopez in the competition. No reason has been provided as of yet for Reynolds’ withdrawal. Dane hasn’t competed in any World Title events this season but was ripping at the ASP Prime Nike US Open of Surfing just over a week ago. Lopez will take on Adrian Buchan and Chris Davidson in the opening heat of competition.
With the completion of the Air Tahiti VonZipper Trials yesterday, the final two wildcard positions for the main event were decided with Brazilian Ricardo Dos Santos and local Heiarri Williams finishing first and second in clean conditions at Teahupoo.
