KAUAI OCEAN REPORT

updated: Jul 29, 2011 11:27AM

Supported by the Kauai Fire Department Ocean Safety Bureau. Forecast and warning information provided by the National Weather Service.

Use caution on South & East shores. Easterly wind-swell plus building South swell. Currents & surf at exposed areas.

Consult lifeguards before entering the water – WHEN IN DOUBT DON’T GO OUT!

Ocean Report Discussion

Watch out for changing conditions on South-facing shores as a new swell builds. Choppy East wind-swell continues to affect all East-exposed areas. Calmer swimming / snorkeling at SHELTERED North shore locations like Hanalei Bay, Haena & Kee. Always use caution – esp. when unfamiliar & help is a long way away. Recommended lifeguarded beaches: Kee, Haena, Hanalei, Lydgate, Kekaha.

Outlook to Tues Aug 2: New South swell building today with larger S swell possible Sun.
