Shark attack in St. Pete

A local 19-year old woman was swimming behind her home in the waters of Boca Ciega Bay when a shark grabbed her. Swimming only 10-12 yards from her own backyard dock she was attacked by a shark in the murky water. There was a handyman, Wilbur Drummond, working on the house next door when the attack occurred. He says James’ sister did an amazing job wrapping and treating the wound while awaiting paramedics. Once the Fir Marshall arrived on the scene they tried to figure out what kind of shark did the attacking, as of now it is still unidentified. The good news is Pinellas County has only seen 2 deaths by shark attacks since 2000. The bad news is they are in our own backyards and we need to be on a better lookout.
