Body Surfer Found Unresponsive In Poipu

POIPU, Hawaii — A 59-year-old Honolulu man was airlifted to Queen’s Medical Center on Tuesday after a body surfing incident at Shipwreck Beach in Poipu, according to Kauai officials.

His current condition is not known.

According to witnesses, the man was body surfing at Shipwreck Beach at around 6:06 p.m. and had caught a wave when they noticed that he was unresponsive.

They brought him to shore and bystanders started CPR.
