Filming of a movie about the world-famous surf break Mavericks will shut down streets and restrict parking in parts of San Mateo on Thursday.
Scenes for “Of Men and Mavericks,” which stars Gerard Butler, Elizabeth Shue, and Johnny Weston, are being filmed this month at various locations in San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties.
Filming in downtown San Mateo on Thursday will prompt closures to through traffic and restrict street parking on Hacienda Street between 31st and 26th avenues, according to the San Mateo Police Department.
The closures were scheduled to begin at around 10 a.m. and continue to 6 p.m., according to police.
Beginning at 4 p.m., filming will impact traffic and parking in portions of San Mateo’s business district near 25th Avenue, which will be closed between El Camino Real and Flores Street.
Various alleys adjacent to 25th Avenue will also be off limits, according to police. Closures in the area will be in effect until around 2 a.m.
