Surfer found along Deal jetty is identified

DEAL — Authorities have identified a surfer found dead along a jetty at the Jersey shore.

Deal police spotted 42-year-old Kevin McGarry of Ocean Township face down off the Roosevelt Avenue beach on Wednesday afternoon.

First Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni tells the Asbury Park Press it appears McGarry died as the result of a surfing accident.
